About the Artist

When I was 6 years old, I went to a yard sale and my parents let me buy several pieces of vintage jewelry from the 50's and 60's. I still remember the pieces (and wish I still had them). I would carry them around in a pink plastic Lisa Frank art case, that made me feel like a fancy business lady when I dumped out all the art supplies and stickers and carried it like a briefcase.

Years later, in my teens, I started selling vintage jewelry and clothing on Ebay in the early days of eCommerce selling. I used the bank account that my grandfather set up for me with $10 in it when I was little because I was too young to open a new one on my own.

I began restoring vintage jewelry that was beyond hope, and in 2016, that led to me making my own little shiny things as Boomerang Betty's. The name came from an ill-fated attempt at being a roller derby player, which gave me an awesome name, but made me no more able to hit other humans or be meaningfully competitive.

After discovering Polymer Clay in 2022, I am excited to bring my vintage-inspired and kitsch-forward creations to you. These pieces embraces a grown-up-meets-little-kid sensibility that gives us pause in front of shiny things, no matter how old we get. After all, we never outgrow things that bring us joy.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope something makes you smile.
